Combating the credit crunch. New research confirms coaching could be the key!
The latest FREE Business Survival Guide from leading HR recruitment and training specialists Wright Solutions has confirmed that coaching can play a major role in helping businesses overcome the effects of the credit crunch.
It has long been accepted that if organisations are to remain successful, they must keep staff highly motivated. However, the slowing economy means that many companies are no longer able to offer the financial incentives that have previously been provided.
Motivating employees and improving bottom line performance…
Entitled ‘Creating a Coaching Culture – can an organisation be coached?’, Wright Solutions’ Guide draws on major new research to explain how coaching has been proven to increase employee motivation, confidence and job satisfaction. In the absence of monetary rewards, coaching can therefore present an extremely effective means of improving an organisation’s bottom line performance, sales, productivity and customer service.
93 million and growing…
Jon Terry, Operations Director at Wright Solutions explained “the popularity of coaching really is booming at the moment as more and more companies appreciate the benefits that it can deliver. This is underlined by the fact that a major search engine now produces over 93 million hits for the term ‘coaching’ – a figure that is an astonishing 24% higher than four years ago”.
Terry continued “our new Guide has been written by Paul Turner – a renowned authority on coaching and former Head of People at West Bromwich Building Society. Paul is now a strategic partner of Wright Solutions and has worked closely with us to provide clients with high profile coaching programmes and consultancy projects. The Guide summarises Paul’s latest research into coaching and makes a number of strategic conclusions. Every business should take time to read its intriguing findings”.
‘Creating a Coaching Culture’ is the third in a series of Guides to be published by Wright Solutions. It builds on the success of ‘HR and its Role in Innovation’ and ‘Creating the Right HR Team’ and accompanies Wright Solutions’ incredibly popular Coaching Masterclass event that has already taken place twice this year. ‘Creating a coaching culture’ can be downloaded free of charge by clicking here.

Wright Solutions announces major investment and an even better service
Wright Solutions, the Midlands’ leading HR recruitment and training specialists announce another major investment.
The Birmingham based company’s recruitment division, which sources high calibre HR and training professionals on behalf of many of the UK’s foremost organisations, will be using a new state-of-the-art candidate database from the beginning of August.
Recruitment services at the forefront of the industry…
Jon Terry, Operations Director at Wright Solutions explained “this is a really exciting time for Wright Solutions. Our success to date has been built around the unrivalled service that we provide to both clients and candidates alike. This new ‘Profile’ database will elevate the quality of service we supply and will enable us to very quickly match the precise needs of clients with candidates who have the appropriate skill sets”.
Terry continued “we will be able to work even more proactively to source the right people for every position and as such, our recruitment services are set to remain firmly at the forefront of the industry”.
The move follows other recent developments at Wright Solutions including their new interactive website and the launch of an innovative series of FREE Business Survival Guides that provide HR professionals with advice on how they can overcome major issues. HR’s Holy Grail now a reality.
Wright Solutions’ NGi initiative to make the benefits of training measurable!
HR professionals and others responsible for employee development can finally measure the business benefits of training thanks to Birmingham based Wright Solutions.
The company, who are the Midlands’ leading HR recruitment and training specialists, have announced their ground-breaking Next Generation initiative (NGi). This new initiative will see Wright Solutions review and redesign their existing portfolio of training courses to maximise the benefits delivered.
Helping to prove the value of training…
As part of the NGi initiative, a best practice evaluation process will now accompany every Wright Solutions training course as standard. This will enable the resulting benefits to be accurately assessed.
Jon Terry, Operations Director at Wright Solutions, explained “measuring the true value that training provides within an organisation has always been a highly contentious issue. Indeed, research undertaken by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has revealed that 80% of HR professionals believe training delivers greater benefits than they can actually demonstrate. The CIPD have also found that just 36% of companies attempt to measure the effect training has on their bottom line”.
“Our NGi initiative changes things. After reviewing and redesigning our training courses, we will award ‘NGi Approved’ status to those that satisfy strict criteria. This will give HR professionals the reassurance of knowing that NGi Approved courses will communicate clearly and concisely, will add value, real competitor advantage, long term business benefits and will inspire and engage employees of every generation”.
Structured approach, clear visibility…
The new initiative adopts a carefully structured approach to training evaluation. Instead of filling in so called ‘happy sheets’ at the end of a course, delegates will be asked to identify the key lessons learnt and the ways in which they plan to implement these lessons in the workplace.
Next, Wright Solutions’ Account Managers will work in partnership with clients to examine this feedback and suggest further reading and support materials. This information will be shared with Training Managers or line managers of the delegates who have attended.
Delegates will then receive an e-mail reminding them of the key lessons they said they had learnt. In addition, delegates will be given the contact details of their Wright Solutions Account Manager who will be on hand to answer any questions they may have about the training and to offer advice on how the training can be incorporated into their everyday roles.
Three months after the training, Wright Solutions will invite delegates to attend a half day Application Review meeting. The purpose of this meeting will be to revisit the key elements of the course and to share experiences of how it has been used.
Finally, key stakeholders will receive reports from Wright Solutions to ensure that the training has been beneficial and that it has achieved its objectives. Recommendations will also be made at this stage as to any additional training that may be required.
Thoroughly reviewing training on behalf of clients…
Terry concluded “all trainers know that they should thoroughly review the training they provide to their employees. The reality though is that most simply don’t have the time and make do with ‘happy sheets’. As standard, Wright Solutions will now review training on behalf of clients, adding considerable value to their businesses”.
“Overall our NGi initiative combines proven ideas with the best in class working practices we have developed over a number of years. It will be instrumental in helping HR executives to remain at the forefront of their professions by delivering training that makes a real impact within their organisations”

Employee engagement now one of HR’s most burning issues!
Wright Solutions confirms fact, HR think-tank ‘The Hub’ set to explore why.
Wright Solutions, the Midlands’ leading HR and training specialists have announced that employee engagement is now officially one of the HR profession’s most burning issues.
The findings were confirmed recently by the company after distributing invitations to the next meeting of HR think-tank ‘The Hub’. The think-tank brings together HR executives representing many of the region’s leading organisations from the financial services, retail, legal, logistics, leisure, consumer goods and manufacturing sectors. With employee engagement on the agenda, response to the next meeting has been unprecedented.
Genuinely surprised at the reaction received…
Jon Terry, Operation Director at Wright Solutions explained “there is little doubt that the next twelve months are likely to be extremely challenging. However, we have been genuinely surprised at the reaction we have received when mentioning employee engagement. With the credit crunch beginning to bite deeply into the UK economy, many organisations are obviously wondering how they can engage with their employees and keep them highly motivated when the larger pay rises, bonuses and financial incentives previously offered are no longer an option”
The meeting will take place at the Birmingham offices of the Institute of Directors on August 5th. It will provide the opportunity for HR Directors and executives to explore solutions to the problem and debate the ways in which employees can be engaged and kept motivated.
The group will also discuss ‘Generation Y’. These ambitious younger people typically seek faster progression, a factor that is hugely significant and one that must be taken into consideration by employers if they are to be successfully engaged.
Terry continued “‘The Hub’ is completely free to attend and is held over breakfast to minimise disruption to the working day. A few places are still available and we invite HR Directors and Senior Executives working in the Midlands to come along and exchange views with other forward thinking professionals”.
Senior HR executives interested in joining ‘The Hub’ and attending the next meeting can register here or call 0121 687 4040.
