Description

This well-known and market leading organisation is currently in the midst of a modernisation and transformational project. As a result they are currently looking for an L&D Manager to help them develop and lead a small, modern and commercially effective L&D function. Based out of Birmingham this is a role that will require national travel, the ability to inspire L&D (& HR) peers and champion a change in approach and strategy to L&D to a sometimes traditional business.

Reporting to a Head of HR and part of the HR leadership team you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing / recruiting and leading L&D team. Giving your people the confidence to drive a change in L&D approach and get buy in from the business to it
  • Identifying and implementing best practice L&D processes ensuring that the L&D team can be commercially effective
  • Championing a Centre of Excellence L&D model at all levels of the business ensuring operational training teams (sales etc.) have autonomy but still conform to new standards and approaches
  • Ensuring a focus on e-learning / digital learning including the implementation of an LMS.
  • Implementing new Performance Management Process, Talent Development, and Career Pathways

The role will require national travel however you will have responsibility for managing your own diary. 

You will need

  • Previous experience of working as a L&D professional within a multi-site role in a customer facing industry and with skills across the whole of the learning cycle.
  • Experience of project managing things like the implementation of LMS, new learning strategies, improvements to Performance Management Systems and the creation of Talent Management or Career Pathways.
  • Experience of managing an L&D team.
