This is a challenging and varied role as Head of HR for a smaller and rapidly growing Supply Chain business based in Banbury. With an already established and well respected HR team in place this is a role that will focus on managing the day to day HR operations, driving continuous improvement to the HR model and working to make HR a more strategic partner to the operational business.

Reporting to the CEO you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team of HR professionals and supporting and developing them as they continue to develop as a strategically minded HR team that delivers commercially relevant HR solutions to the operational teams.
  • Working as the point of escalation for ER issues. Supporting the HR Business Partners with complex cases.
  • Identifying areas where the current HR processes can be refined and made more commercially relevant to the business.
  • Driving people projects and initiatives that will allow the business to achieve its stated aim of finding, developing and keeping the right people (at all levels) to take the business forward.

The ideal candidate will have the following on their CV:

  • Proven experience of managing and developing experienced HR Professionals (Business Partners / Senior HR Advisors)
  • Evidence of strong ER knowledge and the ability to deal with day to day operational HR issues.
  • Time spent in both larger corporate businesses / HR teams AND smaller entrepreneurial organisations
  • Exposure to working as part of a Senior Leadership Team.

And be able to display the following behaviours:

  • Patience and tenacity. This is a business that has been successful and remains ambitious however the change required going forward will be evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
  • Professionalism. The organisation prides itself on its customer service and attention to detail.  

MCIPD qualifications or equivalent would be highly advantageous.

This is a business with some long-standing managers and it needs someone with the ability to work confidently as a HR Business Partner to all senior operational stakeholders making HR relevant to them. The right candidate will be able to make a massive impact on the future of a business that is already successful and heading in the right direction.

Salary/Package: £negotiable. Car allowance, pension, 27 days holiday, contributory pension scheme, Life Assurance.
